One year ago today, my world was turned upside down when I was involved in my car accident. Today, it is a memory, though not one far from the front of my mind. I remember it everytime I get in a vehicle or look at my arm and see the scar or feel the pain when I try to kneel. But I'm alive and doing quite well so I am celebrating my life today.

But I am also mourning death. I found out today that my niece's best friend was killed in a car accident on New Years Day. She was 11 and meant the world to Kayla. I hadn't ever meant Halie but I feel like I knew her because Kayla was always talking about her. I grieve for Halie's family and for my niece....
