Bombs...

This afternoon someone walked into the Federal Building and said he was a terrorist and had a bomb outside.

That was around 2:00 or 2:30. They came over the PA system and told us there was a suspicious package, but didn't evacuate. I left the building at 3:30 and couldn't get to my bus stop because they had several blocks roped off, with bomb squads and police everywhere. Luckily I found some of my fellow bus people wandering around and we flagged our bus down to get home.

While on the bus and trying to get out of downtown, we see the thousands of people finally being evacuated from the Federal Building. That was at 3:45. I have no idea why they didn't evacuate the building sooner.

I was just watching the news and the bomb squad just blew up the suitcase on the patio of the Federal Building that supposedly contained the bomb. No word yet on what was actually in it.

I'm glad I'm home...it's times like this that make me realize how dangerous it is to work where I do.
